Apotea in Morgongåva 1,5 MW
”Our collaboration with Alstra Energy has gone very well, from the preliminary work through to the installation of the system. The project as a whole has been very successful, and we are extremely pleased with the result.”

Sweden’s largest solar power plant is located in Morgongåva
Apotea took it one step further when designing the solar power plant at the logistics center in Morgongåva. The result is Sweden’s largest rooftop plant, which also features the online pharmacy’s logo. The solar panels cover the building’s annual electricity consumption and more. The electricity not used in the building is sold to Sala Heby Energi, allowing residents in the surrounding area to benefit from the solar power generated.
– We are building a world-class logistics center where everything is designed with the goal of minimizing our environmental impact, from the choice of materials and lighting to heating and energy efficiency. By expanding our logistics center in Morgongåva, we also want to contribute to rural growth and enable a doubling of our workforce, says Pär Svärdson, CEO of Apotea.se.says Pär Svärdson, CEO of Apotea.se.
Facts about the solar power plant
- The solar panel system on the roof covers an area equivalent to 2.5 soccer fields.
- The entire system weighs more than 100 tons, the same as 20 full-grown elephants.
- It took 385 helicopter lifts to hoist the solar panels onto the roof.
- The plant has 20 inverters that convert the solar cells’ direct current into alternating current.
- The solar power plant consists of 23 km of cable. If you were to unroll all of it, it would stretch all the way from Morgongåva to Sala.
