Solar Power Plant at STIHL’s HQ in Gothenburg: 254 kW

Green Energy from Solar Panels – Part of STIHL’s Climate Strategy

The installation of the solar power plant in Stenkullen at STIHL’s Nordic headquarters is part of the company’s goal to become the first sales company within the group to achieve climate neutrality.

STIHL’s Nordic headquarters in Stenkullen, outside Gothenburg, underwent major expansions in 2019. The company considers it a given to prioritize and contribute to a greener society. With these environmental priorities in mind, STIHL has therefore developed a climate strategy within the company. As part of STIHL’s climate strategy, the company aims to become one of the first climate-neutral sales companies within the group!

With the help of Alstra Energy, STIHL took a step closer to its goal of becoming climate-neutral in 2019. Since 2019, 1,500 square meters of solar panels from Alstra Energy have been installed in Stenkullen. The solar panels in Stenkullen generate approximately 50 percent of the facility’s annual energy needs. Surplus solar energy not consumed by STIHL’s operations contributed approximately 65 kilowatt-hours of green electricity to the municipality of Lerum during the first year. We at Alstra Energy are, of course, delighted and proud to be able to contribute to a more sustainable society through projects like the one STIHL has implemented!
