Derome – Wooden Houses with 607 kW of Solar Power
Solar Power Plant at Derome’s Factory in Veddige
At Derome’s energy-positive house factory, Alstra Energy has built a solar power plant with a capacity of just over 600 kilowatts. The solar panels are owned by Derome in partnership with Varberg Energi and produce half of the timber house factory’s 100 percent renewable electricity consumption. The facility received an honorable mention at the 2019 Swedish Solar Energy Association Awards.
Derome is investing in solar panels
– It feels absolutely right to invest in solar panels and other renewable energy sources. We build our houses using the most environmentally friendly building material, wood, and we are proud that we can also provide environmentally friendly alternatives for energy consumption, says Henrik Svahn, project manager for the construction of the new factory at Derome.
Alstra Energy was commissioned by Derome as early as 2011 to install a building-integrated solar panel system on the net-zero energy house in the One Tonne Life project in Uppsala.
