The Nordic Region’s Largest Rooftop Solar Array (8.9 MW) in 2022, Bålsta
Property owners NREP, Logicenters, Axfood, and Dagab have installed the Nordic Region’s largest rooftop solar array in Bålsta, outside Stockholm. The facility is expected to have an installed capacity of 8.9 MW and generate 7.8 GWh of solar power annually.
The solar power plant has been built on tenant Dagab’s state-of-the-art, highly automated logistics center. Alstra Energy has been entrusted with designing, installing, and maintaining the plant.
Just over 16,550 high-quality bifacial panels supplied by solar energy wholesaler IBC SOLAR AB have been installed across an area of approximately 80,000 square meters.
NREP and Axfood have a long-term commitment to green electricity production, with the goal of having a completely carbon-neutral property portfolio by 2028. An important part of achieving this sustainability goal is therefore to utilize the large roofs of Logicenters’ logistics properties to produce renewable solar power, and by 2025, they aim to generate renewable solar power on all of the company’s logistics roofs.
