5 MW Rooftop Solar Plant in Borås
One of the Nordic Region’s Largest Rooftop Solar Installations in 2021, Borås
An area consisting of approximately 35,000 square meters of solar panels is now operational at tenant Speed Group’s logistics facility in Borås. The area is equivalent to approximately 6.1 soccer fields with nearly 15,000 solar panels. It is one of the largest rooftop solar power plants in the Nordic region, with an installed capacity of five megawatts. The investment is backed by Logicenters, the logistics division of the real estate company NREP. The solar power plant is leased and operated by Speed Group as part of its goal to be carbon neutral by 2025. Alstra Energy was commissioned to design and install the facility.

We have ambitious sustainability goals and continue to invest in sustainable solutions, such as solar panels. One of our goals is to be climate-neutral by 2028, with climate-neutral operations serving as a key cornerstone of this effort. Here, we see a need to contribute green, locally produced energy in the form of solar panels. However, the transition as a whole is proceeding more slowly than is necessary to simultaneously manage the electrification of society. With one of the Nordic region’s largest rooftop installations, we hope that, together with Speed Group, we can inspire more players to invest in solar power.
